The Council of Deans in Information Technology Education (CDITE), in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office 2 and coordination with PSITE Cagayan Valley Chapter is set to conduct a significant assembly meeting on August 22, 2024. This gathering will bring together Deans and Program Chairs from various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across Region 2 that offer IT Education and Computing programs. Discussion of the activities and initiatives planned to enhance the professional development of IT educators, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality education in a rapidly evolving field.

The general assembly was attended by Rey Tuddao, the Educational Supervisor of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region 2, which will focus on several critical issues that will shape the direction of Information Technology Education (ITE) for the upcoming academic year and beyond. Mr. Rey Tuddao also discussed the role of IT educators in the upcoming elections, focusing on how their expertise can be leveraged to enhance the electoral process and promote civic engagement.

Deliberation on the re-organization of the CDITE leadership to better support the goals of IT education in the region, promoting greater cohesion and strategic direction among institutions. Exploration of how HEIs can actively participate in the IACT 2024 which will be held on October 16-17, 2024 at Cauayan City, Isabela, encouraging innovation and creativity among students and faculty in the field of IT.

This assembly was a collaborative effort between PSITE Cagayan Valley Chapter, CDITE, and CHED Region 2, highlighting the strong partnership between these organizations in advancing the quality of IT education in the region. The event provides a platform for IT education leaders to exchange ideas, share best practices, and align their programs with regional and national goals. This activity marks an important step in strengthening the network of IT educators in Region 2, with the outcomes expected to have a lasting impact on both faculty and student development in the area
