PSITE Cagayan Valley sets new directions through Strategic Planning and Industry Engagement

From June 29 to July 1, 2025, the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) – Cagayan Valley Chapter conducted its Strategic Planning cum Industry Visit in Metro Manila, setting the tone for a stronger, more collaborative, and innovation-driven academic year.

The planning session took place at the Sarasota Residential Resort in Pasay City, where PSITE CV officers gathered to align organizational goals with current trends and industry needs. A special meeting was held with Dr. Sheila M. GeronimoVice President for Luzon of the PSITE National Board, who shared relevant updates on national PSITE initiatives and developments. Dr. Geronimo also led the oath-taking ceremony of the newly inducted PSITE CV officers, officially ushering in a renewed leadership dedicated to academic and professional excellence.

The planning session that followed involved fruitful discussions and goal-setting aimed at strengthening the organization’s programs, enhancing member engagement, and expanding industry linkages.

As part of the chapter’s commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry, the team embarked on a series of industry visits to key players in the IT field, namely:

These visits offered insightful engagements with industry professionals, highlighting opportunities for faculty immersion, student internships, research collaboration, and technical partnerships—all essential for aligning IT education with real-world demands.

The three-day activity culminated in a visit to the National University of Manila, where discussions with a university official opened promising avenues for research collaboration. This milestone event reflects PSITE Cagayan Valley’s unwavering commitment to advancing IT education, fostering innovation, and building meaningful industry-academe relationships.
