In its continued commitment at capacitating the IT educators in the region, Southern Leyte State University and the Philippine Society of Information Technology Officers EV signed a Memorandum of Agreement for Digital Transformation Research and Extension Services held on July 18, 2024 at SLSU, Sogod, Southern Leyte.
Present during the ceremony were Prof. Dianne Remot, Chapter President of PSITE EV; Prof. Francis Rey Padao, PSITE EV VP for External Affairs; Dean of the Faculty of Computer Studies and Information Technology, Dr. Czarina Ancella Gabi; and Dr. Francis Anne Sy, Vice President of Research, Innovation and Extension Services.
The Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators – Eastern Visayas (PSITE EV) held its highly anticipated Regional Convention, bringing together IT educators and professionals from across the region on June 26-27, 2024 at Leyte Normal University.
With the theme, Empowering Tomorrow: Navigating IT Education in an AI-Driven World, the convention feature several talks on the influence of AI on the educational landscape including a keynote speech of Professor Chris Jordan Aliac of Cebu Institute Technology – University, Keeping up with AI from Mr. Jemar Jude Maranga of CodeChum, Frameworks for the Future: Upskilling, Microcredentialing, Certifying from Ms. Jezed Gaan of Innovative Training Works, Enhancing Student Experience in the Classroom from Lisa Tech Solutions, and Evolution of EdTech with AI and the Power of Virtual Computing Labs for Education Sector from Mr. Dann Angelo De Guzman of CloudSwyft Global Systems.
Participants had the opportunity to network with industry experts, share best practices, and explore innovative solutions to current IT challenges. The convention highlighted the importance of continuous learning and collaboration in the rapidly evolving field of information technology. PSITE EV remains committed to fostering a vibrant IT community and advancing the quality of IT education in Eastern Visayas.

[Cagayan de Oro City] – PSITE Northern Mindanao Chapter in partnership with the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines has successfully concluded its first onsite training for the academic year 2024-2025 through hosting a training on Deep Learning Models. The event that took place at the Makerspace of USTP-Main Campus was attended by over 25 instructors and students from the different universities of Northern Mindanao. PSITE R10 is grateful for the knowledge imparted by its invited speaker, Dr. Siraj Muhammad.
In addition to this successful training, PSITE Region 10 and USTP also signed a MOA (Memorandum of Agreement), strengthening the commitment of PSITE Region 10 and USTP towards the advancement of Northern Mindanao to IT education and innovation.
